The photo below is from 1926. Some Cropton residents hired a charabanc to take them to Scarborough for a day out. On this photo is Martha Hodgson & Jack Simpson. What a great way to travel !

The Feaster family had a tennis court at the bottom of their garden. Lots of the Cropton villagers gathered here to play tennis and in this photo enjoy a picnic in the 1930's. First on the left is Mrs.Gertrude Feaster - Second on the left is John Peirson from Sycamore Farm, Cropton, Ernest Peirson, Bob Pennock. Sitting Hilda Roberts, Sarah Ward,?, Olive Thorpe, Mary Pennock and Freda Colbeck.

Whitethorn Farm, at the end of Fairy Lane, Cropton used to host village picnics. Here is a gathering back in 1923.
